Although marble products are easy to use, it is not easy to clean marble, which often makes many people very distressed. Therefore, in the daily cleaning and care process of marble, we need to be more careful.
Marble naturally has micro-pores. The smaller the pores are, the stronger the surface adsorption of capillarity is. Many diseases of stone are "diseases enter from the pores". The pores on the surface of stone will absorb moisture and liquid like sponges. In people's daily life, it is inevitable that there will be some such as fruit juice, drinks, soda water, perfume, nail polish remover, tomato paste, detergent, shampoo, soap and other acid-base liquids spilled on the marble surface, if they are not cleaned in time, they will seep in, causing discoloration and leaving permanent traces.
1. Keep clean thoroughly
The first step to maintain the stone is to thoroughly remove dust and clean it, so it is better to place a step pad at the entrance to filter the sand particles carried by the shoes, otherwise the sand particles will wear the luster of the stone surface along with people's steps. It is best to use a vacuum cleaner or electrostatic mop for dust removal.
2. Do not contact non-neutral detergent
Clean the marble with diluted neutral detergent or clean water, and the detergent with improper pH value will destroy its luster (especially the acidic detergent can neutralize the calcium carbonate in the stone and make the stone form permanent yellow spots).
3. Remove the pollution source immediately
If the pollution source (such as oil, tea, coffee, cola, soy sauce, etc.) is poured on the stone carelessly, it should be wiped immediately to prevent it from seeping into the capillary hole and forming unpleasant stains.
Tip: Once a stain is formed, spray baking soda and water on the contaminated part, and then cover it with plastic film (sealed with adhesive tape around). After a few hours, remove the adhesive tape, and clean the residue of the contaminated part to achieve the decontamination effect.
4. Prevent the formation of water spots
The stone will not dry for a long time and there are always traces of moisture on the surface, which is commonly known as water spots. It can be said that it is very difficult to remove water spots. Therefore, for water spots, the only way is to prevent them. There must be no water left on the stone floor. Do not wash the stone floor directly with water, or mop the floor with a wet mop. Try to dry or absorb the cleaned stone floor. Excessive water will also cause weathering, peeling and floating of the stone.
