In these stages, sometimes it is necessary to use a marker to make some annotations. But we have found that sometimes these marks are easy to draw, but it takes a lot of effort to clean them.

Why write on stone?

 

01 Sorting:
Marble has natural textures, and the order is pre arranged before installation. It can be connected according to the texture for the best decorative effect. Otherwise, the order and texture will be disrupted.

 

02 Annotation function:
If power switches or pipelines need to be installed on a certain piece of stone, they need to be marked.

 

03 Other:
If some stones need to be marked with a marker pen, various information such as the name and place of origin of the stone should be marked. And some other requirements are accustomed to being directly marked on the stone. And various small advertisements, etc.

 

Method of Clearing
How to wash a writing pen marking?
Due to their different materials, the cleaning methods and difficulties are also different.


1. Crayon Mark
The wax component of crayons can adhere to stone. There are differences between smooth, matte, and rough surfaces in stone, and different methods need to be used when removing them.


Smooth surface
If it is a crayon mark on smooth stone, it can be erased with steel wool.


Matte surface, matte surface
If it is a crayon mark on a matte or rough surface, the wax component embedded in the uneven part of the stone surface cannot be erased. At this point, waxing water is needed. Dip a soft cloth in an appropriate amount of waxing water each time, and continuously wipe the areas with wax components to remove them.


2. water-based note numbers
A water-based marker pen actually uses pigments dissolved in water for writing. Therefore, if water-based markers on stone are contaminated, professional materials such as color removers are needed. Spray an appropriate amount of color remover on the marked area and wipe it with a soft cloth. If the pollution is deep, wipe it several times more.

 

3. Oil note numbers, bullet lines
The marks left by oil-based markers and ink lines are mainly composed of ink. These oily substances infiltrate into the microporous structure of the stone, forming oil pollution. This kind of mark can be treated with DR stone adhesive for application.

 

Step 1: Isolate the marked area with masking paper.
Step 2: Spray an appropriate amount of DR stone adhesive on the marked area for cleaning.
Step 3: Cover with clean cotton yarn or multiple layers of tissue paper.
Step 4: Spray an appropriate amount of DR stone adhesive on cotton yarn or tissue.
Step 5: Cover with plastic film and secure with masking paper.
Step 6: Remove the film, cotton yarn, or tissue after 24 hours to remove any contamination.
Step 7: If the pollution is too deep to be removed at once, repeat the above steps 2-3 times.

4. Woodworking pencil marks

Many people find that the marks left by woodworking pencils cannot be removed by using water, alcohol, color removing materials, or oil removing materials.

 

How to wash pencils? In fact, after going through a big circle, everyone forgot the simplest method: think about it, what do we use to clear ordinary pencil words? --Rubber! So, the woodworking pencil marks left on the stone can also be directly erased with an eraser.
