How to build a table base for a granite top

Though our factory only supply the granite table tops now, Here is a possible way to build a table base for a granite top:

Materials:
- Wood boards (2x4, 2x6, 4x4, or other sizes)
- Wood screws or bolts
- Wood glue
- Wood stain or paint
- Sandpaper
- Level
- Measuring tape
- Saw
- Drill
- Hammer or mallet

Steps:
1. Measure the dimensions of the granite top and decide the size and shape of the table base. The base should be slightly larger than the top to provide stability and overhang.

2. Cut four legs from the wood boards to the desired height of the table. Typically, a table height is about 28 to 30 inches. Square-cut the ends if needed.

3. Cut two stretchers or aprons to join the legs on the longer sides of the table. These should be the same length as the long side of the top minus twice the thickness of the legs. For example, if the top is 48 inches long and the legs are 3 inches thick, then each stretcher should be 48-2x3=42 inches long.

4. Cut one or two cross pieces to connect the legs on the shorter sides of the table. These should be the same length as the short side of the top minus twice the thickness of the legs and minus twice the width of each stretcher. For example, if the top is 30 inches wide and the stretcher is 3 inches wide, then each cross piece should be 30-2x3-2x42=0 inches long. If the table is large, use two cross pieces for more stability.

5. Sand all the wood pieces to smooth out any rough spots, edges, or corners. Use a fine-grit sandpaper to achieve a polished finish, if desired.

6. Assemble the table base by attaching the legs to the stretchers and cross pieces with wood screws or bolts. Use wood glue to reinforce the joints and prevent wobbling. Make sure the table is level by adjusting the legs and checking with a level.

7. Apply wood stain or paint to the table base according to your preference. Wipe off any excess and let it dry completely before handling.

8. Place the granite top on the table base and secure it with special brackets or adhesive. Follow the manufacturer's instructions or consult with a professional installer. Make sure the top is centered and level, and avoid putting too much weight or pressure on the edges.

9. Enjoy your new granite top table! Care for it by wiping spills promptly, using coasters, and avoiding abrasive cleaners or objects.
