Is honed granite the same as leathered

Honed granite and leathered granite are not the same, but they are both popular finishes for granite countertops and other surfaces.

Let's take an example of our own quarry granite G023 Grey Landscape Stone for your reference. We are able to supply you both honed finish and leathered finish for the projects.  Our normal sizes can be 600x200mm, 600x300mm, 600x600mm, 900x600mm, 600x1200mm, with different thickness. 

Honed granite has a smooth, matte finish that gives it a more subtle appearance than polished granite. The honing process involves grinding the surface of the granite with a fine-grit abrasive to remove the gloss and create a velvety texture. This finish is popular for its understated elegance and timeless appeal. Honed granite is also less prone to showing fingerprints and water spots, making it a practical choice for busy kitchens.

Leathered granite, on the other hand, has a more rustic and organic feel. This finish is achieved by using diamond-tipped brushes to create a textured surface that resembles the look and feel of a leather hide. Leathered granite has a slightly rougher texture than honed granite, but it is still smooth to the touch. This finish also has a natural patina that can hide minor scratches and imperfections, making it a great choice for high-traffic areas.

Both honed granite and leathered granite have their unique characteristics and are suitable for different design styles.
