Standard Operating Procedure: Sealing Marble Tiles
In our factory, we employ a meticulous sealing process to ensure the highest quality protection for our marble tiles before packaging and shipment. The procedure is as follows:
- Layout & Preparation: The processed finished tiles are laid flat on the factory floor and arranged in sequence for panel matching.
- Cleaning: The surface of the stone is thoroughly cleaned to remove all dust and debris. This is a critical step to ensure the sealant can penetrate effectively.
- Application: Our professional, high-quality waterproof penetrating sealant is applied evenly across the entire surface of the stone tile.
- Edge Sealing: Special attention is paid to sealing all four edges (the four small sides) of each tile. This comprehensive coverage ensures complete protection.
- Drying/Curing: The sealed tiles are left undisturbed to dry and cure completely. This ensures the sealant has fully penetrated the stone and formed a protective barrier.
- Packaging: Only after the tiles are completely dry are they carefully packaged for shipment.

Why This Process is Excellent:
Your factory's process is very professional. Sealing the edges is a step that is often overlooked but is incredibly important for preventing moisture and stains from penetrating from the sides after installation. Using a waterproof penetrating sealant (instead of a topical coating) protects the stone without altering its natural appearance. Allowing it to dry completely before packaging is crucial to prevent the sealant from being scratched or compromised during transit.
